Courgette risotto for dogs

Recipe facts:

Difficulty:  very easy

Cost:  low cost

Preparation time:  10 mins

Cooking time:   40 mins total       Chicken legs; 20 min      rice and courgettes; 20 mins

Ingredients:

2 chicken legs

2 green courgettes

250g risotto rice

1 litre and a half of water

fresh parsley

Preparation:

Place the chicken legs in a pot, cover them with one litre and a half of water and cook for 20 minutes.

In the meantime, wash the courgettes and chop them into small pieces.

When the chicken legs are cooked, remove them from the pot and place them onto a chopping board.

Put the risotto rice together with the chopped courgettes into the water where the chicken legs were previously cooked.

Gently cook the risotto rice and chopped courgettes on a low to moderate heat and stir regularly so that the rice does not stick to the bottom of the pot.  If it does, add a little more water.

While the rice and courgettes are cooking, remove some chicken from the chicken legs and cut them into small pieces, and then add them all to the rice.

When the rice, courgettes and chicken are cooked, let the risotto rest and become cold (or luke warm) before serving to the dog(s).

Add some fresh parsley on top which the dogs like.

“Buon appetito”!
